Ready for More Fun Than Bowling?
About life, death, and yes bowling

Playwright Steven Dietz

By Laura Girvan

Water Works Players presents More Fun Than Bowling. No shoe rental required when you come to see the Water Works Players season opening production in November.

This off-beat comedy by playwright Steven Dietz takes a whimsical look at how life, and ultimately death, can sometimes be more bizarre than fiction.

Jake's life has taken some interesting, although rather freakish turns destroying both his musical aspirations and his love life. Following the loss of two wives, he's not quite sure what's in store for him next as he ponders the future and he becomes paranoid about his own eventual demise. Meanwhile, his daughter Molly tries to encourage him to move on and as they remember their loved ones they come to the realization that life really is more fun than bowling.

This play is billed as a comedy but there is a heartwarming philosophical message to be learned about life, death, and yes bowling.

This production is directed by Suzanne Embree and features Justin Wieclaw as Jake, Ashley Valberg as Molly, Angie Schnepper as Lois, Esther Hagen as Loretta and Rocky Gibney as the mysterious Mr. Dyson.
